Watershed Idea Foundry Presents at 2018 Musculoskeletal New Ventures Conference

MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE – Watershed Idea Foundry, a biomedical incubator and accelerator with facilities in San Antonio, Texas and Carlsbad, California, is presenting at the 16th Annual Musculoskeletal New Ventures Conference, hosted by MB Venture Partners at the FedEx Institute of Technology on the campus of the University of Memphis. Watershed will highlight Structural Encoding®, an innovative solution for permanent device identification.

The 2018 Conference, held October 23-24, brings together surgeons, venture capitalists, industry leaders and researchers from around the country to share information about the fast-growing field of musculoskeletal research. The agenda is packed with more than 20 startups, who were invited to showcase their innovative technology and solutions.

Watershed, created by Fountainhead Investment Partners, first launched Structural Encoding in 2017 as a solution for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) new Unique Device Identification (UDI) regulations. Structural Encoding provides a method to embed data within any device in a way that can be read via imaging and it is the only solution that allows the device to be identified after implantation without access to documentation or paperwork, which is a game-changer for revision surgeries and recalls.

During its presentation, Watershed will highlight already in-use spinal devices and the expansion into other medical devices.
